Default 69th Squadron gets it's first Spitfire.

Finally got to make my spitfire for the 69th Fighter Squadron RAF https://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/sh...quadron-Pilots
And it turned out great. This is Sqd Ldr. Jack Stider's bird. It is in 1/100 scale but can fly. I got the kit from here: https://www.4dpaperairplane.com/supe...-spitfire.html

Just need to get 13 more done and then print off the last one. Hope it turns out great. There are so many mistakes that can happen.

Thank you but I am kinda regretting it... so much glue and cutting... But all worth it just to get myself going in this wonderful game.

Just 13 to go? And then you will need 14 Me 109 as opponents, right?
I admire your energy. Have some REP.

In case you run out of motivation, you always have the alternative to play with cards only.
Simple 2.5d profile models as I did could be a compromise:

Well, my squadron is to have 15. But the first one was... faulty. So 13 more for now. Plane Baker is underway. As for the Bf 109 not yet. Just need to get these together.

It also has the Squadron Leader marking and a four-leaf clover with 69 in gold on it. Plane number 2 had 69 in gold on the white section.

Nice job Brian, but beware. It looks as if the Germans are launching a new sortie against you in the form of a giant elephant. Beware the Pachyderm obscuring the Sun on your six. Or maybe it is just a stool pidgeon!

Also mainly have been coloring in the parts and then cutting them out. IE-D is being made right now as we speak.

I van goofed. I will have to redo plane A-C because the nose is too long.
But other than that, plane D is finished.

Thicker paper? I'll consider it. But so far it seems to be going ok. Just need to not make mistakes.

Ah, I was starting to wonder what mark of Spitfire it was with that long snout ! What mark did you go for ?
I see you've gone for the later 'day fighter scheme' introduced in mid '41 rather than the 'temperate land scheme' of the earlier years & BoB, so guessing it's a later model.

It is supposed to be the Mk I. So... ach well it'll do for now. They will be replaced sooner or later. Right now just need to get 4 sheets coloured and then I can put them all together. After that it is making a little base for them. 2 hangars at 1/100 scale. 3 feet long, 1 1/2 feet wide, and 4.25 inches tall.

As adjutant of the 69th Squadron, I am happy to report that we now have a complement of 2 completely functional Spitfires piloted by Flight Lieutenant Rory Fitzpatrick of Gold Flight, and Flying Officer Braedan Quinn of Red Flight. The first 3 will be replaced and at this rate, we shall have 2 flights ready to go by maybe Friday.
