Is there a consensus for how long a game Phase or Turn is in Wings of Glory WW1? I tried a site search to locate an answer, but I came up with nothing.

Someone (? Zoe Brain) calculated that each card played equates to 2 seconds of real time.
I've looked on a few occasions, but I can't find the thread either!

2 seconds per card was confirmed by Andrea back in 2012 following a calculation by Jon (steel_ratt):
https://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/sh...scale-distance"...after a study of scales in old simulation boardgames (from Richthofen's War to Wings, from Aces High to Blue Max and more) I decided not to follow a precise scale. When we designed the game, in our minds a manoeuvre card played was a couple of seconds in real life..."
(I searched on Game+turn+seconds and the above was the 9th one in the list!)
I have added this info to the FAQ in the FAQ&POI Sticky

Thank you for the history lesson, officers & gentlemen.
I had your calculations in mind when I started the search, Zoe, and they may have pre-dated Jon's, but I failed to turn them up with my stumbling efforts !

Fellow Pilots,
If an action phase takes approximately 2 seconds, how many phases should it take to replace the magazine on a Lewis machine gun that's: 1) fixed to a wing-top on early war planes, 2) attached to a Foster Mount, and 3) managed by a rear gunner?

Personal Choice
Some Entente enthusiasts allow replacement of a drum in a single card, regardless of the gun's position. This is, of course, utterly impossible in real life.
Some Central Powers enthusiasts make drum replacement a full turn, ie 3 cards, regardless of the gun's position.
Since this is a House Rule, any player is entitled to set his/her own time scale - there is no Official "correct answer".

A lot more than anyone would like to play it in the game, Mike !
I use reloading for Lewis guns in my games and settled on three phases, uninterrupted, so it's much like a gun jam.
Tend to run out of ammo at the most inopportune moment and lost many a kill due to it, particularly in early war scenarios, so it can make a huge difference when up against belt fed weaponry.
Have ammo restrictions detailed in the optional rules in OTT.
