These planes and their color schemes are so nifty! Great work, David! Wish I had the ability to crank 'em out as you do
All the best,
Matt

Love the razor-backed 'Stangs and Thunderbolts too!)! Again, these make me wish I could go 1/144, but too much sunk in the "official" scale.

Very pretty!
I agree, Karl - the early P-51s without the bubble canopy are very cool - and the OD scheme is so iconic...
Well done, indeed!
All the best,
Matt
Not my area of expertise Kevin, but those Mustangs do look spectacular in formation. Neat job!
The cards for them look great too Mike.

These are my P-51 Mk. III from Scotia Grendel.
They will harass enemy planes in the European and Med front one of these days.
Just can't keep up with this prolific output of yours Quim.
Yet another beautiful set of aircraft.

And two Mustang IIIs of 19 Squadron somewhere over France, early May 1944. Shapeways FUD models (AE Models) with AA prop discs. Paints used were Vallejo and Italeri, while the decals were from Mehusla (the set is intended for 19 Squadron Spitfire I/IIs in 1940-1941; so far I've used it for 1942 Spitfire Vs and 1944 Mustangs flown by the squadron. One of these days I'll put it to proper use ).
Nice effort Nicholas, make sure you post the finished products as well!
I have four AIM Mustangs to finish up, this just prompts me to get stuck in to them sooner rather than later.

Nice clean paint job, Ross. I thought the canopy came out too blue, then I noticed the nose was rather dark, so probably the camera?

Nice group of P-51's Ross. Together those pairs will make a nice squadron.
Another sharp pair of Mustangs. Nice work Ross.
Lots of great Mustangs. Great work guys! Makes me itchy to get some to paint.
Thanks Peter. I was really happy with the windshields. Whenever I look at Mustang, or other bubble cockpit pictures, the windows always look dark.
Using the slick metal paint as the base allowed the paint to flow nicely for a realistic look. When I use blue background, the wash absorbs into it and just makes it darker.
Very Nice!! Those are AWESOME!!

Nice Mustangs!
Thanks guys. I appreciate the positive comments.
Dave, those canopies look fantastic.
Best I can find for these planes is:
Lieutenant-Colonel John D. Landers, 84th Fighter Squadron, 78th Fighter Group, P-51 Mustang (WZ-I, serial number 44-72258) nicknamed "Big Beautiful Doll"
Lt Herbert L Boyle, WZ-J ('42?) “Old Smoothy” (P-47)
Lieutenant Quince L. Brown, WZ-J "Okie" ('43) (P-47)
WZ-K of Lt (later Capt) Warren Straley, 84th Fighter Squadron, 78th Fighter Group ('41?) (P-47)
