Thread: For Sean Bean fans

    Default For Sean Bean fans

This is nothing to do with aircraft but on Tuesday 6th October at 10.00 p.m. and Wednesday 7th October at 9.55 p.m. on the PBS America channel (Freeview 91) actor Sean Bean is presenting a 2 part documentary about the Battle of Waterloo. Since he played Richard Sharpe in the Napoleonic war series Sharpe, Sean Bean may have a special perspective.

I've seen it, and it was massively underwhelming.

It took 3 attempted watchings just to stay awake through it.

Give it a go if you like, but I won't..............stick to aircrafty things (unless that awful Guy Martin is involved).

    Me too!
Got them all on VHS, and then again on DVD.

They were great fun, rollicking adventure stories full of action.

This Waterloo "Special" is just a series of drab "experts", walking slowly around and saying how things 'must have been', and poor old Sean 'must have Bean' simply agreeing with everything they say.

Have to say its OK, not as good as I hoped it would be, given the subject and the presenter I hoped it would be a little less dull...

    G'day Tim!
Bernard Cornwell has just announced that as he has finished the "Last Kingdom" series he is writing a new Sharpe novel set the day after the Battle of Waterloo & intends to do another at least.

Great news for us Sharpe fans.

    Wowzer!

Met the chap when I did a paid gig re-enactment boost to one of his book launches - he was a dude! Insisted on giving us each a signed copy of his new book, despite the Publisher next to him telling him not to!

    We wuz Vikings!

Nathan (giant on the Left) and myself spotted George Bush Snr in the Country Club Hotel dining room, and attempted to approach for autographs................several humourless Americans in sharp suits and with prominent gun bulges prevented us from doing so!
