Default The Wright Flight takes to the skies once again!

Short notice this month - sorry for being behind the power curve somewhat...!

This Saturday is the second one of the month, so that means we are gaming again at Epic Loot in Centerville, Ohio. Doors open at the usual time - 11 AM - and since we already agreed last month on what we'll be gaming, we should have no problem getting into the air around 11:30. We are flying late war balloon-busting missions this weekend - it will be nice to see a bunch of high-performance planes tackling one another and some gasbags as targets... It's bound to be a flaming good time - FO Kyte would undoubtably approve, particularly since he is not going to be the one on fire

Hope to see those in the area who can make it...

    All the best,
    Matt

I wish I could make it, but I am attending a birthday party in WV at 4:00 pm, and the drive to Centerville is quite long.
So how many books are in your personal library?

Here are some photos from our two games today. The first five show things from my end of the balloons scenario - American SPAD XIIIs against Fokker DVIIs. Each side was trying to take out the enemy balloons as its first priority and then any enemy scouts or protective AA MG defenses. Aside from some fire damage on the left-hand American balloon, the most damage done to balloons today seemed to happen when folks collided with them! None of the balloons were destroyed before they were winched safely to the ground, at which point the dogfighting began. The greatest punishment was handed out by the defending AA MG nests, to both the Entente planes and the CP aircraft - several folks remarked at the effectiveness of the defensive fire...

These two shots come from our second game - the same Fokker DVIIs taking on British SE5As this time in a straightforward dogfight over the lines. These speedy planes close quickly, so we were at one another after one turn.

Here is my ignoble end fairly early in the battle - those collision points can make one reach his max rather quickly!

It was great to have Phillip and Tom down from Celina (about an hour and a half north of us), and. as usual, Dan and Ray made the trek from the northern Cincinnati area, as they usually do. Lots of fun and laughs and conversation while we were playing and afterwards during our late lunch - early dinner across the street at one of our usual pubs.

    All the best,
    Matt

Your name came up in conversation, Esa You would have enjoyed it, I think - lots of death and destruction, and the late-war planes are so speedy. They take some getting used to...

Hope all is well Down Under - Blue skies always!

    All the best,
    Matt

The green one on the right is one of the official balloons that Jim repainted, Keith. The cream-colored one on the left is a Shapeways version that our buddy Ray (Gdog) painted. They both looked lovely on the table It's always fun to play with some balloons as targets......and even more fun when the ground fire doesn't do you in!

    All the best,
    Matt

As I recall, Peter, Phillip didn't manage to draw a boom card...I snagged one, and several others were blessed with the 'special zero', but Phil ducked them. As you can see from his pics, he reveled in taking pictures of those of us who did 'win' them. Quite refreshing for him, no doubt...perhaps this means he will return to game with us?!

    All the best,
    Matt

Maybe its only at Origins where Phil hoards all the booms? Hopefully his luck has turned, except when he's facing me!

Just ask Sven (Marechallannes) about drawing 2 in the same shot!
