Sprayed with humbrol "aluminium" from a can but it looked far too grainy so I added a thin coat of revell silver to smooth things out and brighten it up. I may try to highlight a few panels in slightly different shades as well.

It even has a tiny detailed cockpit which will never really be visible:

Apparently, it's a rookery of albatross, though the image of them in flight being a rookery is......weird.

My workbench this month is full of a big (1/48 scale) Northrup P-61. It is a Revell kit (using old Monogram molds) so it is a real challenge of assembly/fit and finish. However; for an old kit there is some nice detail. A few photos as example. This has been and remains a difficult but satisfying adventure. It was the first night fighter actually designed to include radar. The similarities to 50s SIFI is not lost on me as you will see.

Here are a few diorama staging dry runs. I have a 6x6 truck on the way that will be fitted with a Jib crane. I did DIY a tool box platform for the Radar Tech. (spares, wire and styrene rod).

The movie is "Earth vs the Flying Saucers" which I once saw on the IMAX screen of the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.
So how many books are in your personal library?

Yes sir, one of many Hugh Marlow "classics", although my favorite Hugh Marlow film is a 1949 production titled "Come To The Stable". I call it a Christmas Movie, light hearted but moving. Also starring Loretta Young and Celeste Holm. It is hard to find, but worth the effort. Hugh plays a cynical pop song writer that finds the post WWII peace he needs at the hands of Nuns of a French order that have pledged to build a children's hospital as thanks to God for sparing one in France during an allied offensive.

I think 12 made it to the front in April '18 but the engine was very unreliable.
The engine is quite a weird design - the prop rotates in the opposite direction to the cylinders!

No - just a few prototypes, then an "evaluation" series (modern historians estimate 10 machines) sent to Jasta 73

It was found to be too slow, and its engine was the same as the Siemens-Schuckert D.III, with the same unreliability and piston-throwing issues!
