Looks like this situation has been rumbling on for quite some time, it'll be interesting to see the outcome.

Saw a short article on FB yesterday - I forget which feed - I believe it said he was an American? Thanks for posting the links - I shall have to check them out, Dave. It's a shame that someone could 'screw up' a classic operation like that...

    All the best,

Yes Matt he is an American & was involved with the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome for many years & it seems there was a bit of a scandal about him back then.

It's not screwing up the operation at all. A couple of weekends ago it was the final pilot practice/currency weekend, with lots of aircraft flying -- the sixth or seventh such weekend this (southern hemisphere) flying season.

At some stage further down the track it's likely that TVAL will start doing some more public displays again, but at this stage there's no word when that may happen. Irrespective of that, the company is certainly still alive and strong, and it's expected they will be for quite some time to come.

Had a chance to read the articles, Baz - interesting, if short and slight on hard info. I shall have to see if I can find any Rhinebeck info on him...

Just went to the TVAL homepage and they have two 'banner' articles right up front and large on the page, dealing with DeMarco and the fraud allegations. I think one of them is one that Dave links above. Certainly looks like they are trying to be 'up front' about things, to some degree...

Pretty sad. Reminds me of an unnamed museum that Matt and I volunteered at. It's terrible that people would do such things not realizing the true value of the items they are dealing with.

Here's to them what are like us. Damn few and they're all dead.

It's not all over until the fat lady sings, and it's quite possible that Gene is not as guilty of nefarious actions as some would paint him.... Today's update:

Interesting stuff in both articles, Allan - sounds like wheeling and dealing going on all around! It will be interesting to see how everything washes out...

    All the best,
