Looks nice! Of course, I am a fan of that mauve camo scheme...
Here is my DFW CV
Nice job gents...they look like a few of the ones I took down with my new Sopwith pup in Rise of Flight last evening. The mauve camo is the default skin.
I like those aircraft, both are very nice.
Chris, what about pilot, he dropped from a plane somewhere?!
No Michal could’nt get the flaming bloke in they kept falling through, there are actually two pilots stuck in the fuselage somewhere

Hmmmn. A new game. Shapeways Pilot Placement Poker.
"OK buddy, I see your DFW and raise you a Sopwith Strutter"
Both DFWs are very good chaps. Methinks I could do with some of those to use as more gun fodder.
Rob.
ok shamed into trying again with the pilot.
I know I have seen some of these aircraft presented by other members, but for the life of me I cannot remember where and I cannot find a thread for them. These three were painted recently for one of the OTT CYM missions. They are from Shapeways and the designer was Drome member,Daryl, otherwise known as "Reduced Aircraft Factory". They do not represent any "particular" aircraft and the colour schemes are either based, roughly, on images from a windsock file or they are imaginary. Paints are from Misterkit and decals from Keith Upton, here on the drome. I assume therefore, rightly or wrongly, that they are by Miscmini. Apologies if that is incorrect.

Looking wonderful! Great job!
Very nice Mike.
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
They look great. Nice dramatic photos too!
Very nice, Mike!
The official thread is here although not many "there."
So how many books are in your personal library?
Nicely done, Mike.
The workhorse of the Luftstreitkräfte and yet Ares skipped past it.
Very nice Mike. The backbone of German tandems. Amazing ARES didn't make these.
Dang! Has everyone turned into a professional photographer this week? I mean, some of the pics in the Drome this week are............unreal! Nice work Mike, both aircraft and pics..........
Many thanks all - yes I agree. I'm surprised that Ares has never put one out. May have to do with its speed I guess. It is on the slow side and possibly difficult to match with opposition from the game point of view.
Ah yes. Thanks for that heads up Robert. I have a feeling that those pics probably inspired me to buy these in the first placeBobP posted photos of his DFW C.V in the May 2020 Workbench thread.
Blame Samsung buddy. The cameras on the mobile "cell" phones are just incredible these daysDang! Has everyone turned into a professional photographer this week?
That trio of DFW's look very impressive Mike. I have not got any of those in my collection. I will have to correct that oversight once I have got paid.
Just don't take as long as I did to get around to painting them Look forward to seeing yours too
Very nice. Good think Robert remembered when I posted photos.
So how many books are in your personal library?
Nice work love it keep it up. Love the clouds and pictures.
The clouds are as nice as the planes! and those little tiny gunners, who are so vigilante to their right. excellent.
Great work on the DFW’s Mike..
Never Knowingly Undergunned !!
So how many books are in your personal library?
Super DFWs, Mike!
And a nice card too, Robert.

Hey Robert, you're a star. Many thanks for that I shall print off immediately. Rep inbound.
Cheers Tim Glad to know you are still around and presumably still healthy. Saw the pic of you at work earlier and had to admit how well blue suited you

DFW C.V unknown serial and crew of Flieger Abteilung (A) 199b.
Shapeways Reduced Aircraft Factory later version.
Decals: crosses by Aviation Wing, white stripe by miscmini.
Profile and photos from DFW Aircraft of WWI, Herris, Aeronaut Books, pp 121, 152-53.
This one had the unusual streaked camouflage. "Three colors are brush painted; dark greenish blue, dark violet, and dark Prussian blue. All painted streaks are applied directly to the yellowish canvas. The colors on the wings were painted separately, which made large patches of individual color. However the rudder and elevator look to be painted with mixed colors streaks... The paint was applied much thicker on the fuselage top and sides so the color was more intense. The paint was applied much thinner on the wings giving a streaked appearance without a standard pattern."
Some paints used:
Underside and base for streaks: vallejo model color Buff.
Fuselage: 50/50 mix of vallejo mc german camo dark green and vallejo game air goblin green. 50/50 mix vallejo mc royal purple and blue violet, vallejo mc dark prussian blue.
Wings: 4:1 mix goblin green to german camo dark green. 2:1 mix mc blue violet to royal purple. dark prussian blue streaks.
Crew: vallejo saddle brown, brown violet, light gray.
Engine: Secret Weapon dark iron and engine metal, Secret Weapon Old Oil wash and Nuln Oil.
Scarff ring: vallejo german camo black brown, vallejo air rust.
Radiator: Secret Weapon engine metal, P3 galvanized metal.
Compass: secret weapon dark iron, vallejo mc bright brass.
Prop: vallejo mahogany overpainted with vallejo mc wood grain.
Very nice DFW!
REP!
