Book Title: Aircraft of World War One - Aircraft Archive (3 vols)
Author: various
ISBN: see below
Category: Reference
Format: Paperback
Summary: A three volume set, originally published in the UK by Argus Books in the late 1980s, each running to 96pp with reproductions of original GAs in 1/72 scale, B&W photograghs and statistical data. The detailed GAs were an absolute boon to scratch-builders, and although some are showing their age badly now (the Halberstadt CL.IV is particularly poor), there are some unusual subjects like a Bessoneau Type H Canvas Hangar or Zeppelin Type R (in 1/600 scale) to still pique the interest. Between the 3 books, they cover 93 aircraft types, including most of the Albatros two-seaters and all the Sopwith fighters. While there are better books around (such as Windsock Datafiles), for a relatively inexpensive way to get your hands on a large number of GAs, these books are hard to beat.
