Innocence is one of the best treasures of life, Rob. I protect what's left of mine with iron gauntlets.
Well i alwas have a different nickname for each board i am on.
Absimilliard on RPG boards bwecause it's the founder of Clan Nosferatu from Vampire: the Masquerade RPG which i played heavily in my early 20s.
BlackLegion in Tabletop boards because i started playing Warhammer 40.000 with Black Legion Chaos Space Marines.
Legat on a history board because at the time i registered there i had a strong interest in Ancient Rome.
And finally Kaiser here. Just because i didn't came up with another good WWI sounding name But aon a second though i guess Rittmeister would have been a better fit. A well
Somehow I visited this old thread.
I laughed a lot.
Then I remembered that new blood joined the aerodrome. So...
Why?
well done! I vaguely remember this thread, getting long in the tooth and short in the thread, or is it long in the thread and short in the tooth?
now this is one necrothread that deserves to be reanimated!!!!!
my rather unglamorous, unpronounceable handle comes from my oldest and primary hobby. ive collected militaria since i was 8 years old in 1973. hence MILitaria COLLector (19)73. reading these stories makes me wish id have gone with the name of my most favorite and long term D&D character that ive played more or less continuously since 1983. an elven fighter/mage named THURIN.`
When I found this site I was just going to grab a few files so I just used my "secondary" handle that I use to get past the Username hurdle.
I wish now I had used my usual wargaming one that I started using back in 2000 playing Red Baron 3D : "Kanon Fodder"
"Stumptonian" comes from the city I live in - Portland, Oregon, affectionately referred to as Stumptown - hence "Stumptonian"
OK, this thread was interesting,
Shadowcat was a character in an old Dragon Magazine comic called Wormy from the 70's. He was ablue/black planes traveling winged panther. I like the name and it stuck, CB radio handle in the 70's, became a b-board handle years later, and when the internet came out I was still using it. Being as it was also a battletech mech name others use it these days so sometimes I stick to Shadowcat20 (Traveller RPG website, and World of Tanks). It fits me in being independant and sometimes I just lurk and watch for a while.
I can soo see this in WoG. Nicely chosen.
I just used my fallback name for MMO gaming, as I was usually old enough to be a grandfather to the other players. I added my birthyear to the name, when there was a conflict with another member. Nothing as pictureque, nor interesting as some of the other members' names. None of my D&D names were any good for this forum. However, my CB Handle was "CloudCatcher", being the tallest in almost any group I might join. That might have fit, if I had thought of it when I became a member of this group.

Good stories chaps, my username is just my first and last initials with a zero in between. It's my secondary Internet handle my primary one being Zos93 which I use for RPG sites and Twitter. That relates to an old nickname and no the 93 doesn't relate to my birth year I'm far older than that!
Aussietonka was my original username between February 2015 and January 2016 as it was the nickname given by the RAF to the RAAF General Dynamics or Lockheed F-111. Joke being I am Anglo-Australian being born in Brisbane. I then shortened it to Tonx as I got sick of what a gobfull my previous Nickname was. Also around this time a certain relative of mine began playing WGF and expressed an interest in joining the Aerodrome. I thought if she sees Aussietonka I will never hear the end of it!
"Flying Helmut" because of 'flying helmet', and the Germans being my preferred force. Simples!
I have a different nom de plume on every site I frequent, so collateral damage cannot follow me from one to another!
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!

What a great thread, I can't believe I never stumbled on it earlier!
If I remember correctly, I had to come up with a screen name for a Legends of the Old West forum. Its an old west game...gunslingers...played with dice....yeah, mind blowing originality! But I like it so I keep using it!
My initials plus a nice three digit prime number. No reason, I just like it.
So how many books are in your personal library?
With my commonly known lack of day/nightbombing abilities my nick is now a very strange one, although nightfights are still of my interest.

Hi all, my students named me "mikee" partly because of the character in Monsters Inc and partly because of a certain Mr Corleone in the Godfather. Guess they had mixed feelings about me I'm now as old as Rob and I still get called Mikee baby I added the "magnus" bit some time later 'cos I wasn't able to use my real name for my e mail address. Already in use a million times I guess! And "The Great Mikee" had a nice ring to it from my point of view!
Hmm....I seemed to have missed this one first time around.
"Jager" because when I joined I was quite active in AWI reenactment as a Hesse Cassel Jaeger. I ported this into a lot of internet handles, replacing my older, Norman (medieval reenactment) ones.
It also fits with my persona as a German pilot
I keep thinking about changing it to the more proper Jaeger (Jager with an umlaut being used by a fine gentleman from Finland).

Well, mine is nowhere near as cool or humourus as some here.
I grew up reading Biggles and I'm an Australian...
Teaticket is a part of the town where I have worked and lived for 25+ years. I wish I had come up with something more imaginative...when I retire and move away there will be a change for sure.
My name comes from some online gaming I used to do years ago. During my time playing Everquest I created several different characters. My first was Mulkokintyre, a gnome magicuser, followed by Xyvarious, a dark elf necromancer, Ironheardt a barbarian shaman, then Setarius a Vah Shir a Bengal tiger warrior from the moon Luclin. While I have played several gnome characters at Role Play Gaming conventions the name Mulkokintyre just did not seem to feel right for this forum, nor did any of the others. So I settled for Setarius.
And as they say, the rest is history.
OBO: Yell whose still asking Why ... She cannot gain access to the site?
Yell is my younger Sister from Brisbane Australia and her full name is Danielle. Soon after we found this out a couple of years ago I accidentally called her Yell on the phone as an unofficial shortened version of her full name: It stuck.
Mind you every time my Wife Marion hears the name Yell mentioned at home I may as well have said Beryl the Peril to her ... I hope there soon comes the day when they can stand the sight of one another!!!
Note: If Yell's access problems last for another ten days she is joining onto my Paid Subscription based Membership ... Because I need a PA
Had a cross Fox Terrier and something else from a local farm here in Brittany. Lovely dog , short on legs , big on personality and intelligence . My wife called her Tikki and as it was the first dog she and our kids at the time had ever had she became part of the family and the village . She had 15 grand years training humans to do as she wished I was her friend.
I'm learning to fly, but I ain't got wings
