Thread: STAAKEN!!

    Default STAAKEN!!

New from Oddball Productions (I did the beta build) and soon to be released at ecardmodels.com is this Zeppelin-Staaken R.VI. Its a fairly simple to build model that I think represents its subject well and extra detailing could easily be added (I gotta put some guns on mine at least) and Aaron's models are always VERY reasonably priced and this one is probably going to hit the market at $3.95 (dont quote me on that but it would fit his usual pattern). The designed scale is 1:80 but my build is of course scaled down to 1:144.Click image for larger version.

Well build model - great work!
I also like the Focke-Wulf in the background.

Well I know he sent the model off to Chris so should be soon, sometimes it takes them a while to get updates up.

This one is no problem in 1/144 its so big its like building a more average sized bomber in 1/72

Yes it is, I am looking at the tiny bits for the Fokker EIII fuselage next to the Staaken fuselage and I am thinking "am I crazy?" then I'm thinking, "We've already established that." I like the model design and I think I will be shrinking it VERY soon. Is it drink me or eat me to shrink? Where is Lewis Carrol when you need him? Clipper is in the Library now . . .

Take it easy Clipper my boy. You need to sit back and watch your elf.

    This statement needs some clarification.

Is "elf" the British pronunciation for "health" or are you advising Clipper to ogle an attractive young woman with long ears ?

Not the former but the later, I say.

I would tend to agree with Blackronin,"ogle an attractive young woman", providing that SWMBO was not watching me.

Also too cloudy to see any targets. With the Olympics coming up you can be sure that after the driest Spring in 20 years, it will be the wetest Summer since records began.

Hello there! I got the same kit, and Im willing to make it. How much did you downscale it to get 1:144 from the original size?

Wow! 8 years ago! I'd have to do some math . . . It was a nice build, I did 14 in wood, 4 in card stock- which ended up on pontoons if I recall, then 8 Shapeways and 4 Ares. They are all still here somewhere . . . Is it Staaken time again?
