On the french website Wings of Glory forum ("le Cirque Volant" http://wingsofwar.forum2jeux.com/t12...s-of-glory-wwi ), one of the member (Cyril Leroy alias Sir Erickson on the french forum) is working on a game mat representing the Verdun area before the great battle in 1916.
The following picture shows just a fifth of the final mat : the full size will be 82 x 39 inches (210 x 100 cm).
This side of the mat has a size of 16 x 39 inches (42 x 100 cm).
This part depicts 3 villages (Charny, Bras sur meuse et Douaumont) and railways, station, bridge, churches, mill, hill, fortress, canal with lock-gate …
Many targets for bombers.
The next part will show the battle front with trenches, factory, castle …
The landscape has the same scale than those printed on the maneuver card.
He intends to present this mat to Ares Games to release it or to any partner who would be interested for its production (Aerodrome Accessories ?).
If you have any comment and suggestion, I'm sure he would be glad to hear about it.
Here are some pictures of Reviresco planes painted by Cyril Leroy (presented on Reviresco website) :
