Default UK Channel 5; TV programme to watch

Just caught a trailer for a documentary called "WW1 Top Gun Revealed" on Tuesday 27th on Channel 5, 1900-2000. I think it is about aircraft development during 1914-18.

Looks like one not to miss. I'll do the same just in case I forget.

    Nice spot Don !
I just checked out the show on their website & it says:
"The story of how the aeroplane went from an eccentric novelty to the decisive weapon of modern conflict. This programme includes a series of dazzling aerial experiments, as present-day test pilots push the meticulously recreated planes to the limit."
That should make it very interesting indeed & here's a pic:

Watched the show and thought it was great as a taster for anyone interested in WW1 flying with superb ariel phototography and shots showing construction, ground crew etc. Told the history of aviation in WW1 in a brief way but managed to cover most of the important development milestones. Not to be missed.

I enjoyed it even though it left out what I considered important developments, especially the French imput to the development of aircraft. I expect it is what you can fit into the time as much as anything.
