In this 220pp book, Franks chronologically narrates the history of Jasta 2, from formation in the latter half of 1916 through to the Armistice. It makes good use of contemprary quotes without simply being a series of these strung together, and majors on the personalities who passed through the unit, the aircraft they flew and (in an appendix) their victory claims. Tabular data in other appendices cover COs, bases, losses, serials of aircraft flown by Jasta 2, and Oswald Boelcke's kills. It also includes 16 pages of photos, and the rear dustcover has 4 colour profiles, from a Fokker D.III flown by Boelcke to a D.VIIF flown by Bolle. A well-written and interesting read.
