Thread: Aircraft Cards

  1. #1

    Default Aircraft Cards

When I first started I used the normal ID card and simply put my painted plane on to it. I then realised I was never going to play with the card so didn't need the plan view or the shooting arc. So I got an old recce photo and superimposed the plane on to it. Then, why on earth did I still have the black arrow! Now it has gone.

Very nicely done, George. Could you please describe shortly how to do it and which software you use for this purpose?

I used the basecard from the Files section here. Then I cut out the background I wanted and superimposed it on the original. Then I took a photograph of the plane, cut around it and them pasted it into the card file and moved and shrank it until I got what I wanted. Then I changed the info, I just put a B if the two seater has B front and back, no point in complicating things.

I use Photoshop for this stuff. I had thought of just designing a whole new card but my skills are rusty and it is time consuming.

Using these people can see at once which plane is theirs in a confused melee.

That's a nice take on the cards, and certainly a good aid for players to quickly ID their planes.

I really like the photo background. Almost makes me wish Ares had used them on their cards.

Very ingenious George, and as the other chaps say a very good game aid for newbies especially at shows.
Also a nice decorative touch to the visual impact of the game.
