    In the case of the Fokker D.V, the answer was 'nothing' most fo the time

    Having got a model I like it as it can be used for many nations, but it is hard work getting the pilot to fit in!

    Exactly. My instinct is to add some more struts, and build a proper cockpit (think "Piper Cub" or related unit).
