Default Quick and Dirty Lewis Gunners

So you've noticed there's a lack of Lewis gunners. Reviresco sells a pack of pilots and gunners that includes Scarff ring Lewises, but all the B-gunners are equipped with German guns. Well, a sharp knife can remedy that.

    Take a Reviresco gunner.

Score the joint between gun and ammo drum with a sharp knife.

Just a slight cut will get it to the point where you can twist the drum free.

    Find your friend Mr. Glue.

And you are good to go!

Great tip John. I've got dozens of those chaps just waiting to go under the surgeon's knife.

Me too. Unless you are really careful your magazine tends to end up with a sector cut out of it, so I sometimes replace it with a thin sliver of plastic sprue (or, in my most recent case a 105mm artillery piece barrel which just happened to be to hand, waiting for scrapping and was just the right diameter)

I sometimes use the round plastic sprue of some models cleanly cut to make the ammo drums.
