Thread: Fiddler's Green Gotha Bomber Built

Default Fiddler's Green Gotha Bomber Built

The first Gotha is built. It lacks painting of the struts and crew, but I'll get to that soon.
Here I present some photos with the ubiquitous Albatros DV as size comparing.

    Preparing for a sortie.

Someone is convincing the crew back in the briefing room that is safe to fly the beast.

"I swear sir. It was a ghost plane. It soared before me without any crew on it. ... Drink?! Of course I haven't had a drink!"

I love the smell of recently cut and glued paper in the morning.

This plane really needs crew. And I really need to buy a copy of Flight of Giants...

    Thanks, Ken.
I am now building a Be2e from Batesyboy building company. I'm really curious how it will come out.

I am working on the same model.
A bit of a challenge without instructions or labels on the parts.
We shall see how they turn out.

    Correction: I am working on a Be2c.

The diagram for the engine assembly on the Be2c or Be2e will be a great help.
For the first 24 hrs., I thought that the cylinder boxes might be seats for the cockpits.
Eventually figured out what they were.
Also nice to see how the air scoop fits on top of the engine.
I will be using a plastic disk with a pin for the prop.
At first I thought that I would drill through the engine block for the pin but now I plan to run the pin under the engine block.

I already had done the engine block when Lee put up the diagram. I'm now in the ending stages of the Be2e but work, damn work won't let me finish today the plane. Tomorrow I'll have it done. I'll finish also a Pfalz DIII from Fiddler's Green and I'll start two early war models, the Eindeker and the Bullet. (I bought recently the Himmelman Deck, so I have to have models for it.
