Well, of course you should volunteer, John, absolutely. So the impartial judge we have. Now the jury. Hmmm... I read some Grisham's stuff and choosing a jury can be a tricky process. All those psychologists, spies...But after all Herr Oberst will eventually lock the guys for 24 hours in a room without internet access and order them to make an unanimous choice. Just before dinner user "henryfonda" will convince the others that prize shouldn't go to ... but to ...

I didn't have a spare to paint either so I'd be with you John -

I am rather happy with the way my decals came out.. I think this is one of my best repaints.. and I don't even mind that I used a plane that I have no duplicate of.. lol.. though I repainted another as my first.. that nice red one used for my avatar here.. lol.. too bad that one doesn't show off the side view..

I can't wait to see the others.. I'm all giddy like a school girl.. hahaha

This is soooo much fun having such a contest! I don't think users of other forums can have it I don't care if I win, but the feeling of competition we have it's really cool. I wish all the other participants good luck.

Tell me, Herr Oberst - When is the actual deadline?

Looking at my schedule for the next couple of days, I have the feeling that I'm going to have to cut this one quite close...

Honestly, I don't care if I win either... It would be nice mind you.. lol.. but I like seeing all the planes and putting mine out there for others to see as well.. this has really become my favorite part of the game . repaints.. and I can't wait for the Dr1s to come out again.. I really want to do some of those from Jasta 19 and 13 as well..

I hoped I would have an entry, but sadly, life got in the way. I'll just have to enjoy looking at my fellows work.

Not my entry... but a very good interpretation of one of Brunowski's three Oefflag D.IIIs. Not my work, and in the wrong scale, so disqualified on two grounds. But I think some of those here (not me, alas) are capable of this standard, and I look forward to seeing their work - if only to get inspiration.

More about this aircraft, and how the modeller came up with this scheme, at http://wwi-cookup.com/albatros/diii_...d_diii_ca.html

Just putting the final touches on my entry, and the backup. Two very different schemes, one looking surprisingly drab despite the great contrasts in it. Not sure which one I'll enter, it depends on how they look after the final detail-work and correction of errors. Things can always go awry, but having two candidates lessens the possibility of failure to enter, as long as my camera holds out.

Seems we just had a two-seater contest...
If there's another contest before new minis are released, then I'd recommend Pfalz, since there still seem to be some of those around. If it's after the next WWI release, maybe a 1916 aircraft theme.

Don't have an entry because I didn't have any spare D.IIIs on hand, and couldn't think of a paint job I wanted more than the ones I had, but I'm looking forward to seeing the entries.

I had to repair the camera, and I halted work on the backup when it was obvious the primary was looking adequate. I did a lot of research for it.

Entry sent. Given the quality of past work from some of those entering, I doubt I'll win. But I will get to see real talent on display.

I can't wait to see what you folks have done.
Now, I guess I'll go back to trying to add some more paint to the Farman F.40 , and then finish the AGO C.II in Blender.

Damn, my painting is better than my photography

Actually, it would be worse the other way around
