Thread: Otto C 1 scratch build

Default Otto C 1 scratch build

Strange and rare, 19 of the Otto C1 flew into action as bomber and crew trainers. It looks way too much like a Fw-189! Cool! Gotta have a few. . .

    So we are off!

    Parts designed, cut, sanded, fitted.

    Wing/fuselage matching drilling

    Wing struts pre-painted before assembly

Wing spacing fixture keeps the gap equal and allows for tweeking

Fuselage pods on the build, carved details, engines, cockpits, radiators all added and detailed before assembly, not the high tech clamping devices!

    Color time!

    And there we are!

Under side, lots of wheels and landing gear struts!

    Ready for action!

Some guy named Igor just ordered 24 RBVZ-6 engines, what could they be for??

As always, awesome! I know you've mentioned it before, but what was the title of the book you've been referencing?

The rain has stopped, but now I am recuperating from a root canal gone bad, something about bed rest for a few days = bench rest in my book. What's a guy to do? Clipper @ 10,000 ft

I think it's fascinating how some of you can build these planes from scratch. Great work!

Wonderful, just wonderful David. You need to expand your operation into the profitable Scout sector, and increase your profits!

I am overwhelmed and astonished... you are like a one man miniature factory!

(and I agree with Rob, a bit mad... but I like mad... keeps life interesting!)

Lovely model of a unique design. If somebody made a Shapeways model of the Otto C.I I might even start collecting 1915 aircraft.
