Default Last Polish BOB Pilot Dies

A sad historic note, but God bless all those brave young men that took to the skies 70 years ago to protect their countries and our world.

Thanks for sharing the news, Bob. I read a current article in The Times ("Affirming Flame") about it including Sir Dowding competent comment on Polish Air Force contribution to the victory as well.

I Recommend Sabaton's song: "Aces in Exile"...

And another milestone passes as the "big one" fades from the collective memory.

This is an interesting piece of history I never knew about until I was in the UK a few years ago and bumped into the memorial in London. Sad news. Great contributions by that generation of men.

as a fiund raiser for the Royal British Legion I am always surprised how many young people turn up at my events and do really want to hear about all our past heroes so hopefully their memories will never complately fade ,but it up to us to help them be remembered with posts like this ,well done Bob

Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few. Mr. Churchill said it as no one ever said it.

    Default Still alive another ace

But still alive, (possibly the last one) polish fighter pilot from september campaign 1939. Now he`s living in Poltosk. Ppor. (lieutenant) Wlodzimierz Gedymin was flying in the 131 eskadra myśliwska on PZL. 11c and shoot down 3 and the half german plane. A few month ago I had a honour to talk with him.
