Allan
Truly appreciate each vid. Lovely-old-aircraft bring a big grin my jowls.
I now have better sounds to make whilst painting my next project. That will go over well in the club hut.

Max Z
Watch this WW1 dogfight as three R.A.F. S.E.5s' tangle with three Fokker Dr.1's...

Great video
Only complaints:
1. No rotary engines on the Fokkers.
2. Why this overlong (2m?) long scarfs?
Here is one for the Flashart fans.

Warning. Contains some smut(Baldrick excluded.)

1. The issue of Fokkers with rotaries is being sorted out. Note that initially The Vintage Aviator Collection was based around homebuilt replicas. As evidenced by the S.E.5a's with Hispano Suiza's, as the new aircraft are built, they are being made to original specs, including engines.
2. Pure showmanship! :-)

Great video of these palnes.
Todays video is a faux WW1-era film (albeit with cool sound) of an Albatros D.Va patrolling the front at low level... you gotta love the sound of that Mercedes engine...
Cheers

Great footage, Allan. I like the "oldskull" look of it!
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
A very neat bit of imitation film. It almost gave a sense of the real thing. Just the fact that it had a sound track gave it away, once it was in the air.

Woa awesome!
You guys should contact the guys from the "Rise of Flight" computer game so that they can improve the game with original engine sound and flight characteristics
Here's one many of you have been waiting for -- R.A.F. F.E.2b + Sopwith Triplane air-to-air video. Merry Christmas all.
Cheers
Allan
Very nice thread...and wonderfull videos
A quick reminder - don't miss this week's new videos in this thread: Albatros D.Va, and air-to-air video of the R.A.F. F.E.2b. :-)

Happy New year everyone. This weeks new video is three Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.5a's patrolling the front...

Here's a look at The Vintage Aviator's Sopwith Triplane:

Yet another superb piece of footage. One of my favourite aircraft. I can feel another rebuild coming on.

How many of you fly Fritz Höhn's Pfalz D.III...? Here's the (almost) real thing, as built for the 1966 movie 'The Blue Max'...
Cheers
Allan
That certainly is another cracking bit of footage Allan.
Thanks for posting it.

Great Allan.
I'm just in the process of finishing off Kyte's personal Camel so this bit of footage is quite timely.

Here's an original Avro 504k, with it's original rotary engine. This aircraft has been in New Zealand since the early 1920's.

Yet another interesting piece of film Allan.
It is always great to get the chance to see what are the less popular aircraft which do not get so much media attention as the famous ones flying.

Hans Kirschstein flys his Fokker Dr.1 in a patrol over the Baltic Sea in late April 1918....
Actually this is the triplane traversing Cook Strait -- the body of water that separates the North and South Islands of New Zealand. Never-the-less, an enjoyable video that has been sitting in our vaults for a number of years...
Cheers

Videos will not open but I know where to find them.
Hi Bob - not sure why you're having problems. Seems to be working for me at this end. Anyone else having troubles viewing the latest video?
No, works fine on my machine. Nice video. Thanks for sharing!
A Bristol Fighter F.2b flies across the English Channel.....
This is another video from our archives that is a few years old. Once again this aircraft is actually crossing Cook Strait -- the body of water that separates the North and South Islands of New Zealand.

Allan
i just love to see these old birds fly i wish i could fly one or just in one
My ambition as well. A "Biff" flight like that would be all one can wish for.
A pity Jim can't fix it anymore.
Thanks for another fine piece of footage Allan.
Rob.
Another Baltic sortie in a Fokker Dr.1 -- this time Ltn Hans Müller.....
... and before any of you eagle eyes ask, no, I'm not sure how Hans Kirschstein snuck into the middle of this video... Ooops!
Cheers
Allan
Nice footage again Allan, and as you say two for the price of one.
Thanks.
Rob.
Air-to-air video of an original Avro 504k which includes its original rotary engine.
Harry Tate and his mates -- three Royal Aircraft Factory aircraft in the air together: R.E.8, B.E.2f and B.E.2c
This is something you don't see everyday!
Two more excellent films of aircraft that are not very often seen Allan. Once again thanks for putting them on the Drome.
Rob.
Four Fearsome Fokkers (Dr.1s) strafing 'troops' on the ground.... an old bit of footage, but cool none-the-less...
Across the Channel again ... this time the 16 Sqn RFC Bristol Fighter F.2b escorts Fokker Dr.1 152/17 (one of Manfred von Richtohfen's partially red reserve aircraft)...
