I think Cow ship was mentioned once Chris. At least I think that is what was said.
Rob.
Wouldn't they be steam(ing) ships?
Nice looking models. OK fr playing out of the box, plenty of scope for detailing for those that are that way inclined
Here is an example of an earlier period Cow ship.

I sure will. I am also a big Nappy Naval Gamer. Use Langton Ships with Wooden Ships and Iron Men rules on the big hex board.

Good news Gaz.
Shows that things are on the move at last.
I wonder if they will bring out any seascape playing mats?
Rob.

Good news on the progress; sadly unviewable for those of us not on facebook

Fantastic, Andrea!

Oh,Oh! Time to start building seaplanes. Or converting.

I was looking at the site today and saw the release date for Sails in Summer 2012. I think that passed by many months. Looks like the release of ships will be worse than the planes. I hope there are some ships out this year.
Not only am I looking forward to playing for me, but if the ease of learning the game is the same as Wings of Glory, it will be another great way to introduce folks I know to gaming.
Yes, I will be playing SGN.
Being an ex-army groundpounder, I'm interested in tactics, be they in the air, naval, and on ground. I'll give the game a go just to see what it is like. So, I'm in.
If I can afford yet another game, I am in!! With the awesome release schedule of the WGS stuff, I am spending a lot on WGS already, with some really amazing realease yet to come this year yet! P-51s, B-17s, and Corsairs, OH MY!
I'm absolutely in, many fascinating things may happen in Sails Of Glory.
Sog soon to be the subject of a Kickstarter project, starting early March, product delivering July
So stand by with your spondooliks!
Getting a bit nervous with the Kickstarter announcement. Shouldn't Ares be past the point of needing seed money for this?
Karl
Not really. Everything is ready for production, but with all of the Wings and War or the Ring releases taking priority, cash flow is the issue. The KS project just gets it into production sooner rather then later.
For anyone interested in reading the SoG thread on the kickstarter:

I just revealed several teasers for the KS campaign on the thread linked to just above.
Worth a gander.
So thrilled they are using 1/1200! I already have my navies!!!!!!!!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know what's wrong with this size...
I want want my French first rate as big as possible.
Well, there is nothing wrong with the scale of 1/1000 in itself. But when you have many players with current collections of 1/1200 and 1/2400 scale ships. You lose a lot of the interest. I suspect this will be one of the games they release the rules in pdf, because they want you to buy their scale ships. Personally I can barely tolerate the 1/1200 scale as it tends to force me to smaller scenarios, a squadron on each side at the most. Major sea battles are right out. I gave up on the idea of games on the floor after a year or so after Jutland came out. So large scale mini's indicate that this game will not be one of my purchases.
