    Default Maneuver Combinations/tatcis

    Calling all experiencd pilots!!!

what maneuver card combos have you used, reccomend for each type of plane.

    eg. Fokker Dr 1
what cards are best to use with its fast climb rate. etc

we know about the S-split and the Immelmann maneuver. What else is out there?

just trying to see what I am missing when it comes to using the cards to their fullest.

    Cheers

Well, with the Dr I, Camel and any other plane with two 90° turns you can reverse direction with two cards instead of three.

The Camel is faster but i believe the Dr1 has more turning/sideslip options. Both have the same rate of climb and though the Camel was a faster diver that doesn't make any difference in this game.

If you're driving a Camel, use your speed in combination with that hard right turn. You've got 3 of them to the DR1's 2. Your also tougher than the Dr1.
If you're the Dr1 try and suck them in close them use your turning ability. You have 2 wide sideslips that the Camel doesn't have. Also your right turn is tighter than the Camel's because of your slower speed. Its tough vs. the Camel which can stay with you in turns. You also have an extra stall, which combined with your slower speed can cause your oponent to overshoot you.

The Spad XIII is the fastest plane out there (so is the SE 5a but there isn't a model for that yet) but has no tight turns. It is also a very robust plane. Too bad there aren't differing dive rates because it can outdive just about anything.

If flying a Spad, stay outside the furball and draw a bead on someone and try to swoop in. Use your wide turns to stay on the target. If you miss then use your speed to get clear of the dogfight then immelman or split S to turn around and try again. The Spad has "A" guns so it won't take too many hits to bring down the fragile Dr1 and the Albatros DVa is slower than you and not much more manouverable. But as they say in the book on the DVa, its dangerous in the hands of a skilled pilot.

The DVa (the last of series 1) has the worst of both worlds. It is the same speed as the camel and no tougher and lacks the ability to do tight turns. If your flying one try to think a round ahead and set up your oponents. That's the way the Germans survived in them.

Roland C.II - Keep Low, Keep Ahead, and let the back gun do it's thing. Best use - as bait with another plane. Fly it a little high, let someone try and dip in behind and under it, then nail them with the other plane while the roland screams for the deck.

Roland: left turns are your friend against the Camel.
