Default 1/144 Fokker Dr I plastic kits

We know the Revell kit is over scale; Mighty Wings do a better one but still to thick in the fuselage and the cowling is wrong. Has anyone bought the Furuta version?

Yes, the Revell kit is out of production but still crops up on ebay and Amazon some times.
There is an excellent guide to fixing the scale issue and converting it here http://www.wingsofwar.org/content.php?60-Wolframs-Dr1

    Question

    Stuart!
I have some of the WW2 Furuta planes they wee sold as egg kits original. Meaning they came in a plastic egg with a piece of chewing gun! The scale is fit the egg scale! Which means they very from 1:200 to almost 1:100. The photos show size comparisons!

    Lindsay!

They are about the correct size but they can keep them. There is a ME-109 listed i have one that was supposed to be 1:144 it is 1:100 scale. They are sold and advertised as not scaled!

Here is a link to Furuta scale questions. I found it by searching the message boards at The Miniatures Page for Furuta.http://translate.google.com/translat...hl=en&ie=UTF-8

They don't show up on the website but Model Zone has stacks of 'em.

Are you only interested in exclusively plastic kits or would you be interested in a resin one as well?

    If so, check this: http://www.modelimex.com/1-144-fokker-dri

Didn't realize how many aircraft in 144scale you could get.

I've been wondering about the Revell triplane. Does anybody every use it as-is in the game? It seems to me, since The Red Baron was larger than life, wouldn't it be okay to have a slightly oversized triplane? Of course, you could only do that with his red one - the rest of them would have to be proper scale.

I did a couple of times - until I managed to get a Nexus one and realized how badly off scale it is. I followed the guide here to making it more acceptable and painted it as Voss's jasta 10 machine so any scale difference won't stand out so much among the Albatrosses and Pfalz DIII's

I have one painted up as Voss that I have used. Come to think of it . The last time I flew it I got shot down by a cowspotted se5a. Hmmm maybe size does matter.

The problem with this link, is that all of the WWI aircraft, resin or plastic, are completely out of stock with no indication of a restock date. Otherwise, it would be an awesome selection! Too bad.

They say it should be availabe within 3 weeks from order, they just do not have them in stock as far as I know.

I am going to order from them soon and I will keep you informed.

EDIT: I placed an order for 2 Aviatik Berg D.I's and in addition to the order confirmation e-mail I got this:

This is an automated reply. We are moving to a new location from, so we are closed from 16.7. until 31.7. Therefore we will reply to your e-mail as soon as we can. Thank you for understanding.
Oh well, I can wait. I hope, I can, that is. *bites his nails*
