Dang! Can’t make it tonight. Have fun & somebody catch on fire for me!
Thanks to all for another great night of flying (July5)
See you all August 2
Just about 1 week to go, isn't it? Any suggestions?
Hi,
Looking forward to this Thursday. (August 2, Wheels up at 6:00 pm.
As for scenarios, I have no strong feeling - I can be happy just flying!
1 week notice. Thoughts or suggestions?
I will be out of town next week so if you want any AARs someone else will have to done it.
Have fun.
So how many books are in your personal library?
Looking forward to a fun night of flying! See you there.
Given that my primary interest is WGS, but I would really like to join you all when able, can someone suggest a model or two that I should pick up to be able to play with the group?
Thanks!
I wouldn't worry about picking up anything to play; there should be plenty of planes available for you to borrow.
After you've come out a couple times, if you're so inclined you could volunteer to put together a WWII session. We've been at this long enough I doubt the players would mind a change of pace.
bad news: My kid's soccer practices were scheduled for Thursday nights, so I'll be missing the next 2 months, unless we get rained out.

I a newbie here and live not too far from Savage Mill. Will you be flying planes on Thursday, October 4th, 2018?
Regards,
Marc
In regards to Thursday night, might anyone be going from or by, the Gaithersburg area? i'd really like to get to one of these one day.
So, did anyone show up last week?
We had four people and played one long dogfight game. I have to do the AAR.

Are we playing on November 1st?

I'm grounded due to a landing injury... (sprained toe, hard to stand), so I won't be there Nov. 1st
Hi,
Just returned from Southern Md
I will be there for lift off and will be bringing one more pilot with me.
I will not be attending.
So how many books are in your personal library?
greetings!
Great time at Savage Mill last night.
Hope to see all surviving pilots plus a few more next month at the Mill!
Should be back next week. What do we want to fly?
So how many books are in your personal library?
hi,
Snoopy vs the Red BRon has a holiday ring too it!
It will only be me this flyover - Craig is helping the Elves that night!
Thanks to all for the great games last night.
I even established a personal record - the shortest game I ever played - one card ( but it was a doozy)!
See you all next month!
I was going through my cards yesterday and discovered I do have an extra A damage card, probably Baltic Bob's. It is number 24; a 2 damage with fire special damage. We wouldn't want to loss that one.
I also discovered I am missing three anti-aircraft machine gun cards, numbers 3-5. Must be from some time back when we had a "attack balloon" mission. If anyone has them, please let me know.

Thanks for finding the card. The Card 24 of 35 is indeed from my deck.
I had assumed that when my plane exploded, that card must have been destroyed in the resultant fire!
Thanks for finding it.
Will see you next month for the “prisioner” exchange.
Baltic Bob.
Ho, Ho, Ho,
A Merry Christmas to all a great New Year
Are we still “Wheels off” this Thursday, January3, at the Mill ?
One week advance notice. Come in from the cold and face hot lead! How about a game with two-seaters only. Is that dull or exciting?
So how many books are in your personal library?
*IF* I can make it (and I haven't been to one yet), I can bring a wide range of two-seaters: DH 4s, Albatros C-IIIs, Breguet 14s, I have ONE Brisfit, a couple of Halberstadt Cl-IIs, some Harry Tates, a trio of Rolands, some 1+1/2 Strutters, and some UFAG C-Is.
Given my success rate at getting there, though, it seems unlikely.
Greetings!
I also have a few twoseaters. I will be happy to exchange fire with the gang Thursday!
One week from today is March 7th, the first Thursday of the month and time for another exciting evening of aerial combat. Who'll be there?
I was thinking we might do a ground strafing mission. I cannot remember ever doing that.
So how many books are in your personal library?
Greetings,
Both Craig and I will be there on March 7. A ground staffing mission sounds good - it’s like whack-a-mole is it not?

Hi,
Thanks to all for great games last night (March 7). Although my Vickers fell victim immediately to the dreaded Boom card, I came to life again by the generosity of the other flyers! A great evening to be sure.
Alright, now what? Or better yet now where?
If you guys are down my way it could be Games & Stuff (that doesn't support the game at all I believe) or Third Eye Games & Hobbies (that has the basic sets).
Any options north or west of Savage?
In case you didn't get the message today, The Family Game Store (Savage Mill) is closing at the end of the month. Thus, we need another location to play.
Dear Family Game Store Community,
It is with the utmost sadness that we announce that The Family Game Store will be closing at the end of March, 2019. Over the last 13 years, we have been proud to host a strong community of tabletop game players of all ages, including both those new to the hobby as well as experienced veterans.
We are grateful for your support and patronage over the years, and our greatest hope is that you will continue to enjoy tabletop gaming for years to come. To celebrate our community, we will continue to have our regular gaming events. We will have a farewell potluck during our open game night on Saturday, March 23. We invite all of you to attend! We will be placing a couple of final game orders, so if you would like a final special order please contact us by Sunday, March 17. Special orders will have to be picked up no later than March 25 and will be discounted by 15% off MSRP regardless of any other in store discounts. If you have store credit, we encourage you to come in and take advantage of our liquidation sale. If you have consignment games on sale at the store, you will be contacted to pick them up. We can provide you with some alternative places to sell the games if you wish. Please immediately reach out to us with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your support, and we hope to see you this month For The Fun Of It!
Best Regards,
Laura Burns

Ug, what a loss.
OTOH, I had some abortive attempts to get a regular monthly game going at my FLGS here in Gaithersburg. I could re-start that, if people are up for it. Let me know.
Yes I would be interested - I live in Gaithersburg too.
The Gaithersburg store is Dream Wizards? There was also previous interest in maybe doing a night at Gritty Goblin Games in Maple Lawn. I believe that's the closest store to the current location. I'll probably chat with them later this week about it.
Also I got an indication that Stuart may have some sort of plans in the works to continue TFGS in some form somewhere, but no solid info yet. In addition, Say Cheese Grill may be offering up their space as a meeting location in the short term, so maybe that's a stopgap possibility for next month, if we don't have things sorted out by then.

Previously, the nights that were best from trying to run games were Tuesday nights (preferred by them), or Sunday evenings (less preferred, but I believe it is open). I'll check with Rick, the owner, and see if that's still the case.
I feel as if I have just received the biggest “boom” card ever!
The loss of the Family Game Store is just plain sad- not only for us but also for the owners and staff at the store!
What are our options for alternative landing sites?
One of you should buy the place. Sure would make things easier.
Well...had a doctor's appointment near PlayMore Games, so took the opportunity to drop by and talk to Rick afterwords.
He is indeed, up for providing us play space for WoG; once a month is not a problem at all.
Tuesday evenings are still the best times; Sunday afternoons are another possibility, providing we work around the once-a-month X-Wing tournaments the store runs. PlayMore Games is closed on Mondays.
I realize that Sunday afternoons are going to be way more popular than Tuesday evenings, but the X-Wing seems to be run variable on either the first or second Sundays (most often 2nd, but there's been occasions when they've done this on 1st Sundays).
As a general rule, what would peeps here prefer?
Anybody interested in Games & Stuff in Glen Burnie or Third Eye in Annapolis reach out to me please. I'm in the south half of Anne Arundel, so Gaithersburg isn't going to work for me.
WOW sad news. Even though I don't get to the Wings games I have been to the store many times. Games & Stuff is the other place I get to when I get over that way. Didn't know about the store in Maple Lawn.
