I have never seen the phrase "close enough to see the whites of their eyes" applied to aerial photography before

That's funny, because as I was looking at the pictures, I was thinking "Is it me, or does the pilot have a runny nose? Someone should offer him a tissue..."

Pretty impressive flying... and one hopes that everything that might have been loose in the back of that C-130 got sucked out when they first opened the rear door... would not have liked to have seen the report on how a spanner got sucked into the intake of that aircraft...

Wow pretty cool! The only thing about this that kinda bothers me is I had an internship at Pratt&Whitney testing turbofans and let me just say, the velocity of the air intake is pretty unbelievable. So the skeptic in me wants to doubt the authenticity of the picture... I wouls 1 wonder how close he really is and if it's not just a perspective effect or why they are not sucked in the intake. But in any case, it's really cool.
