Advice Sought - MvR's Albatros from F Toys

Morning all,

I have a couple of the F-Toys MvR Albatros IIIs. I'm leaving one "as is" but I'm thinking about painting the other one in the overall red scheme that I understand he used for a while, where the existing scheme was washed over thinly with red paint. I have a couple of questions:

Are my thoughts on the scheme correct and, if so, should I only be looking at thinly overpainting the upper surfaces of the wings, or the blue undersides as well? I'm thinking that the overpainting was a fairly thin wash, so the original camouflege schem of the upper wings and the national markings could be seen through it. Is this correct?

Finally, has anyone else had a go at doing this?

Bingo - well directed there I did a search before posting, but found n**f all. One day I might actually get the hang of this interweb thingie

Now to do some test pieces to see if I can get an acrylic wash to give me the effect I'm after.
