    Question Poll: 69th Fighter Squadron Nickname

    Trying to figure out a nickname for my squadron. The 69th Fighter Squadron RAF.

    Well, could go with their USAF counterpart, "The Fighting 69th"... (1970s USAF F-104 training squadron, primarily supporting foreign Starfighter operators)

    Or just "Flying Irish," a play on Notre Dame's "Fighting Irish." Maybe one of the lads came to America to study at ND then went home for the war, brought the name home with him?

    I never... That may work actually. I am keeping that in mind because I am making pilot bios and need some schools they visited. That may work.
