Those rounded edges...
I guess this trick must have been done before (?), because those poorly designed bases with their rounded edges are the most annoying aspect of our game.
Today, while doing last preparations for Prague, one of my co-players did it again.
Her elderly, shaky fingers failed
But then she came up with a simple idea.
Place a magnet under the base...
Place the opposite pole on the upper side
And here we go, no more such accidents.
GENIUS!!!!

Great idea
Here is a slightly more complex variation of above concept.
We use rubber O-rings with inner diameter of 4mm and 2 mm thickness. A magnet with a diameter of 6 mm and a height of 3 mm. 5 mm diameter would surely work too, but I don't have one at home.
Use super glue to glue two rings together.
Press the magnet into one half of the double-ring. The other half goes over the protruding central peg under the base. No glue needed, the magnet will now stay with the base.
In this concept there is no need for a an upper magnet per base, just a magnet per player, which could be larger, therefore more confortable to handle.
By the way, these stamps tweezers are about 50 years old. When I was a kid, I was a stamps collector.
Those days are long gone. Nowadays, the kid+50 plays with little airplanes (and dolls), and he provided a new job opportunity to the tweezers.
i like it, but the hand hold still too small for me lol
I just added Keith's bases over the official ones. This gives a better grip with a ridge along the edges and also adds more weight to them, thus adding to the stability of the whole. This can also be done with plain plastic and your own aircraft stats on an acetate sheet between the two layers.
