AAR #2 Craig had to leave after our first game. He'll post that AAR when he returns from vacation.

Our second game of the evening was a photo recon randomly selected from three potential targets. Jim flew a Roland C.II two-seater, with Capt Willard providing cover in a Fokker D.VII. I flew a SE5(a) and Todd had a Sopwith Snipe. Here I charge straight at the tandem and we exchange long-range fire.



After many exchanges of fire with the rear gunner and the Fokker, Todd's Snipe is shot down! And I am far from the two-seater.



Jim was able to take his photograph, and then continued straight over the target. With my superior speed, I was able to catch him and shot him down.

AAR #3 Our third game was a bombing mission. Todd flew a Gotha G.V, Capt Willard a SPAD XIII, Jim a Sopwith Camel, and I stayed with my SE5(a). Here is the initial line-up with the SPAD on the far edge of the table.



Capt Willard and Todd exchange gunfire while Todd's rear gunner takes a shot at Jim, I had overshot the Gotha and suffered rudder damage making it a bit difficult to get back in the action.



The SPAD and Gotha continue to exchange gunfire.



Todd drops his bombs. He hits the card, but does not hit the center red dot.



Todd swings to right after his bomb run, but one of his engines is smoking. I have joined Capt Willard in pursuit of the bomber.



And the escaping bomber does not make it back to base.



All that gunfire from the Gotha does not seem to have had much of an impact on Capt Willard's SPAD XIII.


I also did not receive much damage, but rudder damage can be so annoying when you want to turn in that direction.

Wow Robert, lots of punishing damage on Todd which is unusual for him. Glad you got some good flying done after I left. I’ll post AAR #1 when I return in a few days.

Nice actions over green fields.

The game store has one table top designed with the green fields. Another looks like outer space, but Fokker's in the blackest void would look strange.
