John Rigley (Crashalot) ran a T&T game where I drove a Cuttlefish vs 4 aircraft. He tried a new house rule where if a Martian is in a town it cannot be shot at until the town has been drained of energy. Of course the forests are no-go for the Martian so I'm limited in where I can roam.
The following AAR is not from an unbiased Matrian point of view. "ACK"!
The wimpy humans in their fragile flying machines. Such a technologically backward race.
The glorious Martian Cuttlefish, king of tripods.
Here come the Humans. Not knowing the quality of these pilots I turn my back to keep my shields to them and send out a welcoming black cloud.
Shields hold but barely! A big energy hit immediately changes my gameplan. Hmmmm, first card of the turn, not good timing! Never underestimate those pesky Humans. Must have used some secret weapon to hurt my shield so badly. I'll have to keep an eye on that one.
I get lucky with a close range shot to an unshielded side. Minimal damage and no special damage.
Another gas cloud that hits two planes. "Ack Ack Ack!!!
My arch enemy is that Belgian RE8 who took out half my energy with a boom. A little bit of revenge eats away at his canvas.
Wow, these Cuttlefish are fast. I get to the central city before the Humans can catch up to me.
Have some gas Goering!
I take out one of the city sectors before the Humans can gather in strength. I think they don't care much for the people living in the city as they are taking their time to get after me.
I left a gas cloud behind and then scooted to a still standing part of the city. Two planes fly into the gas but they both survive.
The second city sector is destroyed, more gas released and on to the last of the city.
With no immediate threat the city is sucked dry and then destroyed. And away I run to another town leaving a gas cloud present for the Humans. Three planes hit, "ACK ACK ACK"!!!
Ah, more tasty townsfolk running around in terror.
Must be something I ate, boy I’m gassy today.
The town is sucked dry of energy and tasty Humans. Another triple hit as three planes get a taste of the gas cloud. "ACK ACK ACK ACK"!!!
After destroying the town I try to keep ahead and have my shields facing the Human planes. More gas released , and finally a plane goes down.
The hated tandem overlaps me so for the moment I’m safe from him.
I stand still as the Belgian flies over me into my heat ray arc. I finally get to fire my heat ray into my Belgian friend. It took a long time but the favor is returned. Seems he didin’t like getting Boomed and crashes into the forest. "ACK"!!!
The game ended here. I had a few internal damage points but nothing serious. Most of the time all the planes were coming from the same direction so I could keep my shields facing them.
Before the game I felt uneasy going against 4 planes. The protection while in the towns/city helped immensely. I could sit there while the planes flew by, bide my time until it was right to destroy the town and move on.
