Thread: AAR The Doll Master Tournament Dogfight

Default AAR The Doll Master Tournament Dogfight

Because of my chronic underperformance at the European Masters, I hired Doll Airforce (DAF) members Gina & Nina to practice with me. We played 2 rounds of a plain 2 vs 2 dogfight scenario.

The rules are a variation of the rules at European Masters:

    • Each shooting plane scores 3 VP at short, 2 at long range.
    • Each target plane draws damage cards as per official rules, 2 at short, 1 at long range.
    • Special damages other than BOOM are ignored
    • Kills score 5 VP
    • Killed planes respawn at the beginning of the next turn
    • All VP are assigned to the team. The winning team is determined at the end of the second round by adding up the total number of VP from the two rounds
    • The game lasts 8 turns, however, if both planes of a team are lost in the same turn, the game ends immediately

You got a better game against the dolls than I do when I play.

    Great bit of annimation Fabrizio.
Can't wait for the next round.

Fabrizio, that was really good I can only say that Dave (Flash) must now be preparing to warn off all members of the OTT Campaign, from even thinking of attempting something similar. Although the entertainment value is potentially very high indeed Thanks for sharing that one

    Well done, Fabrizio. Very entertaining.

Do you put rubber bands around the bases to make them easier to pick up and move?

Thanks for the positive feedback and REP gentlemen.
Round 2 is shot. I hope I have time to make the video this week.

Note, that the results are not staged, therefore the AAR is "true" as it worked out. However, I had to do three runs. The first one was a complete mess with plenty of mistakes. Forgetting to move a plane, moving twice or the wrong one. Confusing the cards to draw with the VP to assign, forgetting to operate the dolls...

Finally, quite an exercise in concentration and fun activity for rainy week-ends. I would not want to do real stop-motion at 12 or 24 pictures/sec, though!

Correct. They don't look very cool, but help a lot.

Every time I see the doll with the starting gun get thrown backwards by the recoil, it cracks me up!

I just had to watch them again Tim. There are so many little incidents like that to get them all whilst following the action.
Especially for a partially blind old git like me.
