New mini-series comin in January, Masters of the Air.

Based on Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany, a 2006 book by historian Donald L. Miller, the highly anticipated series dramatizes the exploits of the 100th Bombardment Group, an Air Force unit nicknamed the “Bloody Hundredth” due to the heavy losses it incurred. Austin Butler, best known for playing Elvis in Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 biopic, stars as Major Gale Winston Cleven; Callum Turner plays Cleven’s close friend Major John Egan. Barry Keoghan, Anthony Boyle, Rafferty Law and Ncuti Gatwa round out the cast of American airmen.

I finished the book about year ago and Donald Miller was a good choice. They chose just one unit and follow it's story, so no Ploesti Raid
for (book covers all USAAF in Europe operations), but never mind. I'm waiting for this series since the first announce, maybe 10 years. Yes, please, bring it screen.

Its always a pain when there is a great series to watch on an outlet you don't subscribe to. I've never had HBO so have misses a lot. I do have Apple TV so this one I get to see!

The biggest series, of which this is one, normally make the rounds on the streaming services after initial release, so no doubt there will be opportunities to see it elsewhere. Or alternatively, subscribe to Apple+ for a month then drop it. Personally, I like some shows there, esp. Slow Horses, a show about misfit/failed MI5 agents with Gary Oldman and Kristen Scott Thomas - season 3 starts Nov 29
