The Wright Flight took to the skies today. Today, we did some Italian verus Austro-Hungarian Empire!
And again, the curse of the upside down photos has struck again!
We had a nice group today. In attendance was Chris, Marq, Ray (The G Dog), Mike, Jake, Bob, Bob's two sons, Kaz, Kaz's Son, Matt (adler64), Bill (Old guy), Tom (redcoon2), Jay (JAYCRF450), and myself.
A Caproni Bomber with Hanriot HD.1 and Macchi M.5 escort.
An Austrian Patrol! A couple Aviatik D.I and a captured Macchi M.5.
The battle begins! Also, a Brandenburg C.I has joined in the Patrol!
The Caproni closes in on the first target!
The Aviatik manages to set the Caproni on fire!
The Caproni missed the target as well.
Lots of fire going around!
The Caproni tries to turn around to bomb the second target.
One of the Hanriots goes down!
The fight continues!
The Austrians are giving the Caproni a very hard time!
The Brandenburg takes a couple of hits to the pilot and goes down!
The Caproni goes down as well.
After this, the remaining Italians fled the board.
Victory to the Austro-Hungarian Empire!
Now for game number 2.
Three Aviatik D.I on patrol.
A couple of Hanriot HD.1 are escorting a RAF RE8 on recon.
The air battle commences.
The Aviatik are trying to chase down the recon plane.
This pilot did not have a good down.
The RE8 catches fire! More flames!
Getting up close and personal!
Which proved to be a bad idea!
The battle continues!
On fire and badly damaged, the RE8 flees the skies. Over Austrian Lines!
Did the RE8 survive the fire.....NO!
If they did not die in the crash, they were captures by the Austrian troops.
This one would be more of a draw. The RE8 was shot down and the mission lost. But, the Austrians lost two planes.
A great day of games!
