Origins 2023 Game 4 – Earth Fights Back
11 Humans and Martians lined up to play in this one. A Martian base had been identified and orders were given to take it out.
Planes with cannons and rockets were sent with escort to do as much damage to one of the Martian central bases. Humanity hangs in the balance.
A large landing pod site and two Martian base domes were part of a growing network of Martian infrastructure. A flight of 7 aircraft were sent aloft to take out the Martian forces and base. Two cannon armed SPAD XIIs (red fuselages) and two rocket armes planes (one SPAD VII and one N16) were the main punch aimed at hitting the invaders.
The Martians detect the oncoming human aircraft and set up defensive positions.
A Cuttlefish nestles up to a defense dome after spreading out a smoke shield.
The fast SPADs lead the attack.
The Cuttlefish aims it’s heat ray at a pair of SPADs, setting one on fire.(again)
(I let the Martians hit all aircraft in the heat ray beam.)
The burning rocket armed SPAD failed to hit the landing pod while the cannon SPAD lines up a close range blast.
One of the nimble Squids sets a triplane on fire. He then lines up a flaming SPAD but fails to take it down.
The pair of burning aircraft miss an opportunity to attack a defense dome as they are too close and fly directly over it.
Then, to ad insult to injury, the Squid downs them both with it’s heat ray!
One defense dome is under attack by a triplane and a Scarab and Squid reposition to help defend it.
Activity increases around the landing pod. Malachi in his rocket armed N16 starts his approach at the landing pod.
The cuttlefish repositions it’s smoke screen as aircraft try to fly around it.
Three aircraft feel the heat as a Squid blasts the trio flying too close to each other.
A triplane caught in the crossfire is sent hurtling to the ground.
Rockets are released! But for the unfortunate XXX, Malachi hits his wingman instead of his intended target.
A defense dome shoots at and downs Malachi, relieving him of his guilt for downing a wingman.
The landing pod is no longer! The humans have destroyed a major part of the Martian complex. A defense dome is set on fire and it flails our with it’s last heat ray, downing a SPAD.
The Earthlings win the battle and start the long campaign to rid earth of the Martian infestation!

I had to immel to avoid smoke, laterally cross the map and find a path to the target. Did I get a kill for the SPAD
