Thanks, guys. I thought this one would be kind of plain, but really like how it turned out. They're mentioned a bit in the HD1/HD2 windsock datafile. It's probably a DD9 in the photo since twin guns but close enough Kind of tough to find a lot of photos.

Great paint job! All those French flying boats (DD's, Tellier, Georges Levy, Levy-Besson) don't get the press that they deserve.

Thanks very much for the comments and REP, all.
I probably need another one of these to keep it company on patrol
And to get going on my crazy Tellier T6 cannon version and the 'Alerte' triplane

    Hello,
since I like this plane very much, here is my trio (USA version is not ready yet, otherwise there would be four of them). And yes, I know that Italy and Austria did not use those, but "Resistance was furtile" in this case. Hope you will like them.

Need cards? I have a Hanriot HD.2 card for an American plane. Wouldn't be much work to put French markings on one. Crew and units?

And I could do a card or two for the DD.8? Again, crew and unit?

PS: Found the unit for all. Crews unknown. Checked the Hanriot HD.2 Painting thread, too.

Hello Mike, if you will be so kind and make cards for all my three DD8, it will be really helpfull for me. Appreciate all your effort. Thank you very much.

    Hmmm...

    I have a problem.

I have this drawing, identified as possibly a DD.7:

I have this drawing, identified as a DD.8:

Does anyone have a confirmation? Does anyone have a better drawing of the Three-seater? The one above is not suitable for making a card.

If only the two seater was verifiable as the DD.8, I could do a card with this:

You could try the one that was derived from the Shapeways model: https://static.miraheze.org/linenwik.../DD8triTop.png. (I re-generated it at 3000 pixels wide.) It doesn't have support and control lines, though.

Thanks to Daryl [ReducedAirFact] for his drawings, I could fudge this:

So, both planes are DD.8s, one is a BiPlace, the other is the TriPlace, version.

Technically, this should be a standard card? Wingspan is under 19m.

Chris has opted to use the fourth base size suggested by Andrea, but not adopted by Ares, that's one and a half 'normal' cards wide for machines with a wingspan that falls under that of the smaller giants but above those of the bigger tandems.
If you stick with the Ares base sizes Zoe suggested a rule of thumb of, use a scout base if it has two crew, small bomber base if it has a larger crew.

Wow. With this plane, that would be confusing, as it comes in two and three person versions, with exactly the same airframe (wingspan). So, regular card for the Biplace, and small bomber card for the Triplace?

PS: the crew can't change position in flight, so a crew management card isn't strictly necessary. IMHO.

It might be useful for keeping track of which crew members are wounded/dead.

Well, if you stick with Ares bases and the suggested solution, maybe, but I think common sense would prevail & most would go with the small bomber base if it has two different seating versions.
I think that the forth base size option comes into it's own in that case; I see Chris made his card to match.

Yes, I prefer the 68x66mm base size and use it based on wingspan between 16 - 20 meters. So far, about 25 types of unofficial aircraft fit the bill for 68x66mm. Generally, for the game effect, I find they're a bit easier to hit due to increased size which seems appropriate for a 'mission plane' or an early type (e.g. Farman 40).
The bases are relatively easy to come by from Litko: custom Litko bases thread
It's also possible to get generic 68x66mm bases made in their design tool.
