Default Guess what i’ve seen today, part II

These fellas are regulars in my local hospital.
A few herds stroll between the hospital ground and the nearby woods.

Absolutely. It’s a shame they don’t lay eggs.

Pardon my ignorance and poor eye sight: are those animals some breed of sheep?

Yes Doug, they are mouflons. I suppose they are shedding their winter hair as the summer is coming.

Wiki: The mouflon is a wild sheep native to Cyprus, the Caspian region from eastern Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Iran. It is thought to be the ancestor of all modern domestic sheep breeds.

Thank you, Timothy, i love animals myself. There are over two hundred of them strolling the hospital grounds. I still have to find a picture of this friendly beaver shaped creature a saw by the river. A super cute fellow.

Thanks, Jan, for the information in answer to my question.
With sheep having been domesticated for so long, it is quite a surprise to learn of a wild flock.

Lot's of domesticated animals go wild; all the wild horses out in the Western USA, as well as some of the islands off the East coast, are decended
    from (imported) domestic horses.
Wild pigs/boars too, which are a serious problem in many states.

Doug they live all around the Czech Rep and woodmen sometimes have to make them less, like with deers, wild pigs or rabbits. They are not as silly as sheep are. They always have one on guard when the flock is resting. I noticed. The heard sometimes crosses the main road to get some juicy grass on the other side.

They'll get shouted at by a heavily-armed Czech Policeman if they don't - right Paul?

I think policemen here carry pointed sticks for that case.

To your list we could add cats, camels, rabbits, foxes, and dogs in Australia.

I thought Jan was meaning that mouflons have never been domesticated, and were wild in that sense.
