Was watching the people round my home remembering Le Debarquement by taking flowers to monuments for the civilians / resistance that were executed after D Day.

I remember where I firstly noticed Maquis underground movement - in Biggles books (one of postwar books when he served as a detective). The story behind resistance was described in an interesting way with mentions about casualties and wounds on soul of nation there. I didn't expect something non-B&W from such simple books.
