I had the whole house to myself for a few days so I attempted the biggest/longest game I could play singlehandedly.
I set up the game mat on my living room floor and played in between chores, before and after meals, etc... leaving the game laid out for a total of 2.5 days approximately.
Scenario
To the SE of the town of Bragelonne (fictional name) the Germans have launched an observation balloon.
The French have despatched a Nieuport 16 equipped with Le Prieur rockets to take down the Drachen. At the same time, a Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter has to obtain photo intelligence about a nearby German ammunition depot. To support the two planes, a Nieuport 17 has been designated as escort.
Unknown to the French, at the same time the German Command has ordered Photo reconnaissance and bombing of a nearby bridge, tasks assigned to a Roland C.II and a Albatros C.III respectively, under the escort of an Albatros D.Va.
It is known that in the area surrounding Bragelonne, both side have placed a range of AA contraptions - nevertheless both sides are low on ammo and can't expect to fire more than a couple of rounds for each gun.
All planes starting at height 2, balloon deployed at height 4.
Narrative of the Action
The D.Va charges head on into the enemy formation, with which he exchange lively machine gun fire - luckily for the daring Bavarian pilot, both his direct adversaries jam their machine guns in the process.
Attempting to get past the enemy patrol, to get on their tails, the German plane's wingtip hits the Sopwith, which ruinously starts spinning to the ground.
To make the situation worse, the Nieuport 16 is hit by ground fire and starts leaving behind an ominous trail of black smoke!
The row between the Albatros and the entire French patrol has allowed the German two seaters to slip unobserved towards their objectives and the two planes will be mostly undisturbed in carrying out their tasks for most of the encounter, save a little harassment by AA machine guns, ineffective AA cannon fire and a few close calls between the two of them, never actually resulting in collisions.
The French fighters approach the Drachen, closely followed by the Albatros which doesn't succeed in preventing the Nieuport 16 from launching all of his rockets.
With its killer still awfully close, the balloon blows up in a huge sphere of flames!
Shortly after, the French are further punished as the Nieuport 17 gets in the crossfire of the Albatros and the Roland, which sends it to the ground.
While this happens, to the other side of Bragelonne the C.III finally managed - after a long spell of manouvering into position - drop his load on the bridge, taking it down.
The Albatros D.Va,after his ramming kill, manages to put out of service the engine of the remaining Nieuport - the Germans earn the unopposed control of the airspace above the town.
