Thread: My WW1 papermodels collection (± 250 different models)

Default My WW1 papermodels collection (± 250 different models)

    Hello to all.
I have been reading you for years and I finally decided to write something.
I collect WOG WW1 planes. They are all made of paper.
I propose to make you discover my collection, some models every 2 or 3 days.
(with my production, I can entertain you for 2 years)
I cover all the countries that participated in the First World War, from the most obvious to the most anecdotal (Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece, ...)

    Here we go !

Wow... I have a lot of challenges modeling things in 3D on the computer. I can't imagine doing all those in paper!

    Looking forward to more.

One life would not be enough for me to produce 250 models.
Do you also design your own models?

    @ hokusai,
I build 3 planes at a time to allow the glue to dry (1/2 hour a day)
At first, I found them all done, I just had to put them back to 1/144.
Now, it becomes more difficult because you have to modify, redraw, recolor, or even create on the basis of plans or already existing models.
Then, a lot of plinth (ground) exists, but I also have to redraw some entirely.

The next ones will be a Belgian Farman F-40.

You don't need cards for your planes, as you have stands made with cards. I still went through the search, to see if I could better match the colour scheme. You patched the scheme together? The Fiddler's Green model doesn't look the same as your plane, which I suspect you modified to match an existing card?

    Hello Mike,
It's one of my first planes and it's already a few years old. But indeed, it is a modified Fiddler's Green with a '5 BLUE'.
The Fiddler's Green decorations do not correspond to a real profile.
moreover the '5 BLUE' is much prettier and famous.
It is a printed and laminated card.
