After a tough distracting week it was great to get to run some games at Cold Wars. But as I mentioned a distracting week...I ran what I listed as the 2nd game first! Oh well.
Clouds cover altitude levels 2.0 to 4.X.
When your peg is in a cloud you cannot shoot or be shot at. You cannot shoot on the card you exit a cloud but can be shot at. With your peg in a cloud you plot as normal. Before moving a d6 is rolled, 1-2 you pivot 45* left, 3-4 you are good, 5-6 you pivot 45* right.
John (crashalot) and Chuck watch as Bob (BobP) moves his kite.
The Rumpler C.Vs see the tangle of planes ahead. Their recon mission will not be without some danger.
2 SE5as break right of the clouds making for the Rumplers while the other two break left to engage the Hun.
The Albatros loses sight of its prey as the SE5a dips into the cloud below.
The Rumplers are getting nervous about the enemy they see above them.
The 2 SE5as that broke left seem to have lost contact with all enemy. A pair of Hun Albatros are getting ready to keep them busy while the others clear the Pth for the Rumplers.
The Albatros has overshot its SE5a. It will be difficult to catch him now!
One Rumpler is in the clear with no enemy near but his wingman is about to enter the cloud as an enemy is closing in.
One SE5a enters a cloud as the Rumpler exits past him. Another SE5a wishes he was in the cloud as he takes on some bullets from behind.
The Rumplers make their run to the positions they need to observe as a couple of British planes try to get on their tails.
A long shot above the clouds does in a SE5a. Rob has aq long way down to the ground to think about getting revenge with his next plane.
Bob hunts down a pesky Rumpler, but help is on the way for the Hun.
Bob dives down and takes out the observer on the blue/green camo tandem but the pilot gets even when it slows down and gets the SE5a in its front guns.
The Hun Albatros flight keeps the return path clear for the Rumplers.
Both Rumplers made it to their targets and the way it was going, one of them would surely get back with their precious information.
