    Default Advanced Cockpit

    Hi

Loooooog time ago (around 7 years)
there were some 3D cockpits avialable. The advanced cockpit.
Im sure this isnt available anymore, but I am intersted to rebuild this for 3D printing (or does ths exist somewhere?).
I found some photos....but they are bit blur, and I cannot read or gues what some parts are used for.
Does anyone still have this and can send me some detailed pictures, so I have a chance to plan a printed version.

    Hi

I have found a set of 4 pictures of the cockpit.
I can see most of the details....except ONE. I have no idea what is printed there. Maybe someone would know:

I have circled it red. What does this sign says?

The first ideas how to......are still in progress. Some parts are already created in Tinkercad.

Hopefully the 1st test will be available in April. (My printer is still busy with a print of the Eagle spaceship (Space 1999))
I will try to manage everything to print with a FDM printer.

    Best,
    Lutz

    looks an interesting project Lutz.
As a courtesy best check it over with Keith, and see if he is OK with you copying his design.

Do you have his contact data?
    Then I will contact him
But I dont want to sell it (and it cannot be bought anywhere), so there is no profit loss
if its done, I will publish this in Thingiverse for downloading

I have added: 3x manouvre cards, 1x plane cards, 3x Ace card slots. Unused manouvre cards, damage cards, damage+1. Place for manouvre reminder (will chnage the symbol from "?" to something different, gun jammed, slider for smoke, fire and 3x for "burst of fire", counter for damage (0-8) and altitude (1-16). It will be a "2 level print", this here is the upper one. The lower one will have some pilars and slider bays, card holder areas etc.

Unfortunately plenty of unscrupulous people out there sell prints of other people’s designs that they download from Thingiverse!

    Keith's the forum C.O - Oberst Hajj - https://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/me...?4-Oberst-Hajj

When he closed down the Aerodrome Store he may have passed all the permissions to Evan (Xen) at Rival Sky Games in Oz (https://rivalsky.com.au/) as he was going to produce stuff but Xen hasn't been active on the forum for a year plus.

Update 23/3/2023 - WW1 Version 1.2 coming soon (tmr or beginning next week, depends on my time and the effort). Changes will be: 2-seater fighter incl rear gunner/reload house rule. My Goal is to use 1 cockpit for single and 2-seater fighter planes in WW1. Bomber I will focus on seperatley. Suggestions are most welcome

My critique, if I'm looking at this correctly, is that you have items that are supposed to be public—Altitude, Climb, Fire, Jam, etc—hidden

Not sure if I understand this correctly. But the items for altitude, climb fire etc....are well seen from the other side. They are not blocked

Looks to me like the cards standing up block them.

    ah, I understand.
    limited space :-)
but sitting on a std table oppsite, its possible to see the altidude, climb, etc. And also the 3 cards are always removed (and back), so its not always hidden.

But maybe I will find another solution/trick

I have never been troubled by this in our games Luke.
All my aircraft fly with Keith's altitude markers so anyone can see them. Mainly though we just count pegs, and don't worry about incremental bits of the climb. As for fire we have markers for smoke or fire attached to the aircraft. We have never understood the rule about flashing your Jam card, because a pilot having a jam would not advertise it to his foe. It is up to them to spot the signs of him not firing when they are under his guns, or breaking off the action for three moves whilst he fixed the problem. However showing the jam card should be enough for enemy pilots to know. if they can't remember for three moves, they don't get the advantage of turning on the adversary.

I think it's just to prove the fact to the jammed party, especially when playing with unfamiliar opponents or with the over-competitive Tournament types.

Tried to do a print but the Creality Ender 3 can only reach 220mm, any chance a "tighter" version could be made?

I have got the request in Thingiverse too. So I have rebuilt this to 220mm :-)

Just a question are the card slots for the manouvres long enough for sleeved cards?
