Can you use AAA and anti-aircraft mg in the same game?

My gaming partner, Janet, and I played a couple of photo-recon scenarios that employed an anti-aircraft machine gun and a battery of anti-aircraft artillery pieces. The planes flew at a fixed altitude. As we played, the thought occurred to me....is it realistic to have both the AAA and mg in this scenario? That is, does the maximum height of effective mg fire and the minimum AAA firing altitude overlap? Or would it be more realistic to use one or the other weapon systems but not both?

It's realistic as it's what happened in real life. Off the top of my head there is no minimum AA range, it can engage targets at level 1 at 2 rulers range; targets at level 2 at 1 ruler range, and targets at level 3 when overlapping the gun's card. AAMG can engage planes ar level 1 at 1 ruler range and targets at level 2 at half ruler distance. Arguably you could have a player just manage the guns against an attacker.

Since 3" AA guns were used in an anti-tank role, ie altitude 3 feet there is no objection to using AA guns and machine guns at the same lower altitudes!
