Thread: March 2023 Workbench

    Default March 2023 Workbench

Guess I'm the one to kick off the March workshop aka workbench. Tackled Scaroni's Hanriot HD.1 - Shapeways Reduced Aircraft Factory. Lots of decals on this one. First time I used decal paper to get the numbers right. Word to the wise: read the directions first. I didn't and after printing off the 76 on the decal paper, I cut it out and put it right in the warm water. Watching the ink dissolve in the water bath was kind of pretty but not useful for getting it on the plane! Next attempt using a sealant and letting it dry out was much more successful!

I've got a dozen planes on the workbench half-done, but I had to stop to paint some Jaegers for a friend so he can use them in his Salute game next month

While I was waiting for the paint to dry on them I finished some figures for my Saga Shieldmaiden warband that had been sitting around for ages

Hopefully I'll have some planes ready for next month's workbench (including one of these - fingers crossed)

    Excellent figure painting, Steve!
And, yes, workbench projects waiting to be finished....I have a few as well!

    Nice Jaegers, Steve. Franco-Prussian war?
And the shieldmaidens are great too. Like the boar rider and the banner carrier.

Thanks Karl. Yes they are Wargame Foundry Franco-Prussian, although I believe they will be dropped from a Zeppelin in an attempt to kidnap Queen Victoria.

Yep, got them too. And I think Dr Who will be putting in an appearance as well. However, I will be doing something more sensible at Salute on the Wings table.

Been reworking my M577 Command Post Carrier this month. I built it up from an Italeri M113 kit many more years ago than I care to remember now using spare bits from other kits as part of Vietnam armour group that never really saw the light of day. Recently I decided to update the paintjob for something I'm more likely to see it used in on my table. Probably not entirely accurate for the purist but I was pretty pleased with how it came out. I tried to keep the 'Jester' decal visible & kept the cow skull for a bit of colour, and kept the .50cal I originally fitted.

If you look in the hatch (which it shouldn't have) you can see the wall map I added years ago
