    Default February 2023 Workbench

Halfway through the month and nobody has painted anything? OK, here is the start of my pet project for this year, the Spanish Civil War - half a dozen Polikarpov I-16s and a Boeing 281.

The Moscas are a mix of HBM (previously having seen service in my Finnish Air Force before being stripped and re-painted) and 3D prints from Planeprinter files. The Boeing is also from Planeprinter. All the stripes and tail markings were hand painted, the codes and roundels from MiscMini's SCW ranges.

The Boeing is an interesting one; an export demonstrator was sent to Spain just before the war and got roped in to service. The paint scheme is a bit conjectural, photographic evidence shows it went over with the Olive Drab and yellow scheme; how long it stayed like that is anyone's guess. My guess would be "not long", as with that scheme they might as well have written "Target" on the top wing. Anywho, I took my inspiration from several model kits on the interweb showing this scheme, and it will fit nicely with my other early war stuff I intend to paint up, such as the Fury, Bulldog and Dewoitine D510.

Well if Tim won't say it. I shall. Those aircraft look fast - they're really pegging it. Boom Boom. OK sorry!

its called a "war rig". it started life as a mundane tanker truck and has been up armed and armored for maximum carnage!

for tail end charlie defense i simply lopped off the cockpit of a helicopter and added some mining drill bits. pardon the bawdy language. but do remember anyone reading it is shooting at me lol.
as may be inferred the kingpin of conflagrations main weapons are flamethrowers; one out of the front, 1 on either side of the cab, one out of the back, and of course the handheld one of the "fry guy". plus ample firepower as well. also magnetized some other weapons (some border on outragous lol) left over from the salvaging operations.
also working on a custom car for the game; "metal storm".

in its most potent iteration its armed with 2 minguns in the duel turret mounted on the top. capitalizing on the turrets resemblance to and r2d2 i dubbed it 'R2FU" and painted "beep boop pew pew" on the side lol.
its still a work in progress as i intend to add some purple flames to the front end.

    Nice!

That rig looks like "Knight Rider" on steroids and Crack!

'Gaslands' is a very fun game - reminds me a lot of the old Steve Jackson classic 'Car Wars'.
