    Default Cold Wars 2023

    Cold Wars, Mar 9-12 2023
Valley Forge Casino Resort, 1160 1st Ave, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania

This years Cold Wars is fast approaching! Game submissions for the PEL are due by Jan 23rd. I just submitted 5 games and Mike Jacobs has two T&T games in. We should have a good variety of games to enjoy. Two WWI, one WW2, two T&T and one SOG. I’ll also be running a 15mm WW2 game using Battlefront WW2 rules.

When the event list is official I will post it with event codes and tkimes.

    Friday 9am
    Fish in a Barrel WGF
A British hunter patrol of SE5as at high altitude behind enemy lines finds a flight of Albatros DVas down below and dives in for the attack. Little do they know it is not the easy target they thought. When they engage the Germans it becomes obvious they are not rookies.

    Friday 12 noon WGF
    Jump the Jumpers
A veteran flight of Jasta 11 Albatros pilots attack a formation of bombers returning from their bomb drop. An escorting flight of Nieuport 24s are not having it and jump the Hun before they reach the bombers. Will any of the bombers get home or will Richthofen's boys be kept at bay. You decide!

    Friday 3pm WGS
    TroubleKi-84s at Home
TroubleKi-84 Hayates take on a raiding flight of Hellcats as they approach an IJA airfield they are hellbent on tearing up. Some of the Navy’s best look forward to mixing it up with the Emperor’s setting sons.
Pretty evenly matched planes face off over a costal airbase.

    Friday 8-11 SOG
    Running the Shoals
A British squadron press the French towards the coast to where the French must turn and fight if they want to get home. Set the battle sails, open the gun ports and light your matches, the battle nears.

Saturday Mike has a T&T I think at 10 and another at 2. When the event list is up I will have all the info ie: event codes so you can register.

    Saturday 6pm Battlefront WW2
    The Road to Beaumont
May 15th, 1940. With the German spearhead already behind the French forward lines, remnants of the 1st Armored Division fight to get back to the French main force.

This I think will be a teaching session so there will be some of everything, armor, infantry, guns and vehicles.

Had a great time at the Con. Didn't do to well in the T&T game. Something to remember Never have your unshielded back to a plane. Those nasty BOOM cards.
I think we all made a new friend in Max. Great guy.

Cold Wars was a blast. (no pun intended Bob) Playing T&T will forever be changed into Bob's Barbeque! Ouch! Poor Bob seemed to attract the special damage cards like there was no tomorrow.

I'll get to posting pics as soon as I can resize them. Later tonight I should get to start on it.

We (John, Bob and myself) did eat our share of humans. Can't say they all went down well as the inconsistent effectiveness of our gas clouds attested.

So, back from Cold Wars in Valley Forge PA. As usual it was a blast in many ways. Mike (Mikejr74) had a friend from Germany come over, Max. He fit in perfectly with our Thursday Night Gang, picking on Mike without end! Max took to Wings very quickly forming rivalries with John and Mike.

All games were well attended with good natured, fun people.

AAR for game 1, Fish in a Barrel is up HERE.
