    Default RIP. Johnny" Johnson

    George Leonard "Johnny" Johnson was the last surviving original member of RAF 617 Squadron's famous "Dambusters" raid of 1943. He died peacefully at a care home near Bristol on Wednesday night at the age of 101.

    Hard to imagine more dangerous mission than Operation Chastise. Maybe Tidal Wave, but starting his career with such kind of mission

    Actually, Daniel, he'd already completed a full tour of ops before joining 617 sqn with his crew, so maybe the start of his second tour. Hats off still !
