    Default Vapnartak MMXXIII

It’s the most wonderful time of the year….

…when we get asked to put on a game or two at the Vapnartak show.

    Sunday 5th February
    Main Stand, York Racecourse

    Set up from 0800
    Door open 1000
    Closes 1700

I’ll quite happily run a WGS table with my ground crew.

Are there any volunteers to run a second table and if so, what game/theme would you like to run?

There might be an opportunity to put on a third table, if we limit our table sizes to 6’x6’, as we generally get left to sort out our own space up there on the 2nd mezzanine.

Thoughts (with required table size) by Thursday (1st December) so that I can submit our proposal(s).

I aim to be there - can do WGF, WGS or BSG as required.

Ooh a BSG table would be fun

If that’s the roll call, can I suggest that we run three games, all being a simple dogfight of “standard” models, to show how the systems are similar but different?

    6’x6’ area
    3 players a-side
Red vs Blue (and we keep a tab of the running scores)
30-45 minutes a game (we run a clock)

    WW1: Camels vs Dr.1s
    WW2: Spitfires vs Bf.109s
    BSG: Vipers vs Raiders

    Thoughts?

What a good idea... sounds like something we could do at Games Expo next year as well (If we can agree something with Roberto)

hmmmmmmmmm - not desperately keen on the Tournamenty thing.

Conventions usually give us a chance to play larger scenarios than we can normally play at our local game groups.

However, if the majority want small, time-limit games, I'll give it a shot.

Our slots confirmed, assuming we are in our usual location.

Doors generally open at 8am for setup and gives us a chance to have a recce before the punters arrive.

I should be there from 8 so wander up when you’re ready.

How many tables are we running?
Do I need to dig out my BSG stuff (and re-learn the Rules!) again, or will I be shredding Chris Hedeby on the WGF table again?

We have three tables I think, original plan was WW1 WW2 and BSG... We can always go for two larger tables if that simplifies matters. Neil is Bringing a Zeppelin and a couple of HP400s, so a large bombing mission could be fun on a bigger table. Would look pretty good as well

Vapnartak are already listing BSG on their Facebook site…

…curious if you have to change to “Cylon Helmut” for this one?

Shouldn't that be 'Toaster Helmut' ?

Huge thanks to everyone who made today such a success, really busy show (nearly 2000) through the doors. All three tables saw a lot of action, AAR’s and photos to follow but mentions in dispatches for Neil (Skafloc), Simon (Strangely Brown) and Julia, Andy and Marian and Tim for bringing his BSG show to the day. Nice to see a few other familiar faces as well as being able to chat with some of our new members as well. As usual really good show.

May I just add that today has been great, getting back into the saddle so to speak, been a long while for myself. 2 great Wings games, Simon and Julia running the WW2 BoB and Tim dealing with the BSG table with aplomb.

Thought I was seeing things for a moment, Neil - if I did that I'd become Lt F.Lash, not sure I want to turn that page ! Looks good though.

Bombing run underway... The mission was a success, but not without losses, but i'll let others describe that as I am still finding it too painful.
