Thread: AIM "Operation Vengeance"

    Default AIM "Operation Vengeance"

Good Morning everyone. My Brother Bob and I had an idea back in Dec. 2020 about the Titled event, and I don't now recall why. But we found both Betty's and P-38s in the AIM store. While not the exact models of the GM4, number 323 of Admiral Yamamoto nor the P-38, Miss Virginia, but we figured we could do some DIY modification. This exercise once performed languished do to other commitments etc. and just the concept ideas for creating a small Diorama of "Operation Vengeance". My apologies if some of these photos look familiar, but despite my search of the Aerodrome and my lack of recollection this may be Deja Vu all over again.

The photos simply show my two models as I proceeded through the process. Bob's journey was similar and parallel to mine.

The bubbles had to be created for bits and pieces from my our stash.

It is now November 2022 and I finally get some some ideas. Since I had done a couple of dioramas incorporation ocean scenes I figured I could conjure up a jungle/ocean combo. The final piece of my puzzle was foam packaging from my wife Dayle's Anna Griffin Create shippment. As you will see it allowed the diorama to be created in two movable sections.

ID:	320938 I began by using acrylic on the base for background color before mixing my white glue and water and sprinkling on the ground cover from my stash. This looked like it would work! I did a crude photo edit to solidify the concept in my brain.

I have to obtain Bob's set of aircraft, so I am not quite done, but you get the idea.
